Today is our first day back to school and while I am sooo excited for the kids - or is it really me I am so excited for??! - I wanted to make an after school healthy drink for when they get home. We all should have healthy options in our refrigerators to fill up our tanks! I have a great idea-- what is falling out of my cabinet on my head here? Oh, boxes and boxes of tea my daughter has purchased. So, Green teen you are my inspiration for today! What is green tea good for? So many things like allergies, bone strength, arthritis, diabetes, eye health, oral health, stroke prevention, teeth health, cholesterol, immune strength, liver, weight loss, and depression.

Going on our blog hop theme of making items from what I already have in my pantry, I wanted to share with you a "recipe" for Arizona Green Iced Tea! After school my kids are looking for something to drink in addition to water, so I decided to make some Green Iced Tea and it tastes exactly like Arizona Diet Green Tea with Ginseng! Plus you more than likely have the ingredients at home. You can make this tea diet or all natural.

First, boil your water in your teapot on the stove, and while that gets ready to heat up, grate up some fresh ginger about one teaspoon and cut some thin slices of fresh lemon and add green loose leaf tea or 4 Decaffeinated green tea bags to the infuser*, next add 2 tablespoons of lavender honey* to the infuser. When your water is boiling pour carefully into the tea picture and place the seal on and let the flavors seep in from the infuser! Let the tea sit cool off for a bit, then place in the refrigerator to chill. After the iced tea chills completely you will notice that it tastes just like the Arizona Diet Green Tea. If you want to add splenda you can do so for added sweetness but, I leave mine natural and with the honey. I love this tea infuser to make home made iced tea and flavored strawberry and mango water.

Let me know how you like the recipe!
