From the Sports Corner

Good news if you are a New York Giants football fan, because they beat the Redskins and improved to 1-2 with their first win on the year. You may be thinking that 1-2 is a dismal record, however, for the Giants it is not so bad, their division is very weak and they are tied for second behind the crippled Cowboys, tied with the weak Redskins, and lastly ahead of the struggling Eagles. The Giants did something against the Redskins they couldn't figure out how to do in the first two games, close out the game by not losing a 10 plus point lead. Things are looking up for the Giants as Victor Cruz will hopefully be back in week 4. Also, the offensive line had a good showing and has not been as bad as we've seen over the last few seasons. Do I think the Giants will make the playoffs? Maybe, do I think they have a chance? Definitely. Another thing to be proud about is the fact that Rueben Randle exploded with 7 catches for 116 yards and one touchdown. One final stat to look at is the fact that Eli Manning has not yet thrown an interception this season, yes you did not read that wrong. If the Giants can keep this level of play up, then maybe they can make it to the playoffs.

Cowboys star quarterback, Tony Romo, is out with a broken collarbone that will most definitely hurt their solid 2-0 start to the season. Romo is ineligible for play until at least week 11 with his injury. This is potentially season ruining news, since their backup quarterback, Brandon Weeden, is not nearly as skilled as Tony Romo. Adding to that fact, he has an unfortunately long streak of losses, having 8 in a row in all of his starts as the Cowboys starting quarterback. Yes, the Cowboys have a great offensive line but they have neither Dez Bryant, (arguably the best wide receiver in the NFL) nor a powerfull run game. What I expect out of Weeden is that he will struggle in this upcoming week 3 matchup against the Atlanta Falcons who have shocked people this year with their defensive presence. All in all, with Tony Romo on the bench the Cowboys now have an astronomically low chance at getting over 10 wins this season, unless Weeden can defy expectations and pull 6 wins out of thin air, the Cowboys are looking at a low shot of playoff contention.
