Take a look at my summer vase redo from using an upcycled vase that I already had at home! The stained glass texture on the bottom of the vase was peeling off so this was a good choice to spray paint over with Rustoleum satin french lilac. I added two coats of the lilac spray paint on the vase and in between each coat of paint be sure to let it dry for at least 20 minutes. And next my favorite part, while the vase was drying I made the mason jar lid gift tags. If your mason jars have stickers on the tops remove them by soaking them with soapy water and I have a sticker remover call Goo-Gone which works really well. All you have to do is pick up some chalk board spray paint, (I purchased mine at AC Moore) spray paint the lids with three coats of chalk board paint hole punch the lid and insert a ribbon to tie around your vase! I have a tool called a Crop-A-Dile which I purchased in AC Moore and it is a tool that hole punches through tin and metal and you can add a grommet in the crop-a-dile for a finished look. The grommets are also in AC Moore. Kids and adults love the chalk board gift tags you can make a bunch at a time and when you need a gift tag you will have them ready to go. You can also tie them on with bakery string or raffia. Add a fun phrase on your chalkboard tag and there it is!
