Friday Smoothie Recipe Day- Blueberry Coconut

TGIF! A new feature for Bella Home Goods will be Friday Smoothie Recipe Day! I love smoothies because they are easy and quick to make, filling and taste great. It's a great way to add more fruits and vegetables into your diet and you can do this pretty easily for your kids this way! You can put a lot of ingredients in it to make it nutritious and delicious. I usually make the smoothie as my meal for breakfast. Smoothies would be good if you need some energy and can't work out without having something small to eat an hour before your workout. Everybody has their own preference of how they can exercise, on an empty stomach or something small like a Greek yogurt or shake. I'm not a nutritionist, but, if you have some protein in before you workout you will have more energy and can work harder with out passing out or getting wobbly.

To make smoothies I use the Nutribullet High Speed Blender/Mixer System, it has a 600 watt motor and I love it. I would like to get the new 900 watt motor the professional series at some point. A friend mentioned they had the lower speed one and its not as good for a lot of smoothies or as powerful at mixing and blending. The Nutribullet in our house gets a lot of use. My boys and I use it to make smoothies hence, it turns out to be about three smoothies a day. My daughter & Hubby are not sold yet on my drinks! It's convenient as well because you make the shake right in the same glass you drink out of. The Nutribullet comes with three plastic glasses, a few re-sealable lids to make and transport for your lunch cooler or save for later, and one lid screws on with an easy to hold handle for drinking right away. The Nutribullet has two blades for emulsifying and grinding. You could mill your flaxseed or chia seeds. Even whole coffee beans probably!

If you have a juicer or blender that you love let me know in the comments section in case someone is looking for one we can give each other some ideas as to what is good and what is not.
