Halloween Candy Corn Mason Jars

Candy Corn Mason Jars anyone? These Candy Corn Jars will look great on your table or mantle and you can fill them with fresh flowers or some Halloween goodies/pencils/pens for the kids wrapped in cellophane tied with festive ribbon they will love it! Here is how I put them together:

First stop: Target picked up a case of pint sized mason jars you can buy them individually at Michael's or Ac Moore or online at amazon.com since they are starting to go out of season in the stores.

Once you have all of your supplies on hand, wash/dry your jars so they are free of any dust or debris and then paint them white. You can spray paint them if you like which is what I did. Let them dry overnight so the glue does not make the paint bubble. Apply blue painters tape around a third of the jar and paint the bottom of the jar with white school craft glue like Elmer's glue. Tap gold glitter on glue and the glitter will stick, and continue around the jar until finished. Let dry for fifteen minutes. Peel tape off. Peel off a new piece of painters blue tape a third of the way up the jar. Paint craft glue on inside the lines in the middle then immediately apply the orange glitter. Wait again another fifteen or so minutes and gently peel off blue painters tape.

For the top layer of glitter I did not tape this section off. I carefully painted around the jar line with the craft glue and then sprinkled on the white glitter up to the jar ring area.

Once the jar dried for a few hours I tapped off the excess glitter and you have one sparkling candy corn mason jar!

Happy Halloween!
